Who are we?
We are a small, family-run company which we (and our guests) feel contributes to a friendly, relaxed, social and productive holiday for you guys. We have just the one apartment for guests and have no plans to become a huge kiteschool like all the others here in Tarifa. In the summer months we normally have one instructor to help Kev keep control of you! This year it is Tom - who came on two High Flyers holidays, and liked it so much he had to become an instructor and join us! We will also introduce you to many of our friends around our happy town so you will really feel part of it all. You will definitely meet Lorna who helps us out with many aspects of High Flyers - including showing you Tarifa´s party scene!
Kev
Kev is a Level 2 International Kiteboarding Organization instructor. "I have lived and worked in Tarifa since February 2006. I therefore know all the best beaches for us to kite each day, the wind conditions, the town, and far too many bar and restaurant staff!
I love the opportunities that kiting gives me to travel the world, from Brazil to Bournemouth, via Venezuela and Egypt and the mountains for snowkiting!
Before kiting became my work as well as passion I did a degree in Sports Science and managed various gyms and sports venues in London for over 10 years, and was a personal trainer and sports coach. I've always played football, golf, squash, cricket - yep every sport in fact. I also surf and snowboard, but I don't do ´the other´windsport"!
Lisa
Kev´s wife, Lisa, has lived in Spain since 2004. "After spending 18 months teaching English and learning Spanish I moved to Tarifa in 2006. As well as still teaching English I work at one of the coolest & most relaxed hostal-restaurants in town, 'Banti'. I'll look after you with the best aprés-kite cakes to munch on with a cup of tea after a hard day at the beach.
I have also been learning to kite here in Tarifa over the last couple of years, so can give you tips, advice and encouagment from the learner's point of view."
Our Apartment
Your accommodation - High Flyers House is in the centre of town and just a stones throw from the beach. It is a spacious duplex apartment with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large kitchen and lounge. We lived here ourselves for 2 happy years, so it has a real homely feel (not your typical bare holiday apartment or a lonely hotel room).
You will be sharing the apartment with the other High Flyers guests, which helps make a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere ..... Most people go home having made new friends!
There is a large, fully equiped kitchen. So if you are trying to watch the pennies or simply feel to shattered to head into town why not use it to cook your own meals in the evenings.
