About us
Kevin first arrived in Tarifa back in 2006, pulling into town in a van with the simple plan of teaching a bit, kiting a lot, and probably moving on to the next windy spot once summer was over.
But Tarifa has a way of getting under your skin — and twenty years later, he’s still here, now one of the most experienced instructors in the area and the proud owner of High Flyers Kite House. That’s the Tarifa effect.
Kevin also lives in the Kite House, so he’s always on hand with advice — whether it’s choosing the right beach for the day’s wind, recommending the best local restaurants, or suggesting unforgettable places to explore when you’re not on the water. And for those visiting without any intention of kitesurfing, you’re just as welcome; Tarifa has plenty to offer, whatever your interests.
These days, Kevin still kites whenever he can, but he’s equally passionate about exploring the wider region — from Andalucia’s white villages, mountains and history to the flavours of Portugal and the colours and culture of Morocco. It’s a wonderfully diverse corner of the world, and he loves sharing it with the people who stay at High Flyers.
Why Tarifa?
Tarifa is a truly magical place. The southern-most point of mainland Europe, with Morocco within touching distance. Where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea, and the starting point of one of Spain´s most unspoilt coastlines: the Costa de la Luz. Most people fall in love with Tarifa. Many people find it impossible to leave (me being one!), and most come back time after time.
If you want to do more than just kiteusrf / or kitesurfing isn't for you - Tarifa has you covered.
